NC Power Volleyball Club has always been a club for the players and about the players. This club was started by three girls who did not have an interest in playing in any other club. In November 2008, these three girls contacted Glenn Cashion to start a new JO program. They wanted to form a club based on the philosophy of having fun, playing hard, being safe and no drama. Cashion promised to coach the girls and create a budget as long as they held tryouts, made their own teams and found a place to practice. They talked to Ricky Proehl, owner of Proehlific Park, and after talking to Cashion and the girls, Proehl named Cashion the Director of Volleyball and asked Cashion to start a girls’ volleyball program. Originally called Proehlific Park Volleyball, the club started its first season with four teams and began an in-house league.
