NC Power fight on the last day of Winter Bump

13 Black

Led by Coach Jef Mei, 13 Black finished tied for third out of 27 teams in the 13 Club division.  The team played hard all weekend against great competition.

 The last day of competition consists of playoffs in every division, making it the most intense and tough day of play.  Read below to see how each individual team did.  Congrats to all the teams on a great weekend!

17 Black

After two days of competition, 17 Black fell on the third day in a hard-fought battle against Eastern Elite 18 Black.  The team played three sets with scores of 11-25, 25-19, and 15-9.  Eastern Elite 18 Black went on to win the bracket.  Though losing in the Silver bracket, they were able to end their journey at Winter Bump with a win in the Silver Consolation Bracket against Magnum Aiken 18 Green (20-25, 25-18, 15-12).

16 Black

16 Black played hard in the Silver Bracket finishing third after a loss to Upward Stars 16 Brandon (25-22, 25-19) and a win against Xcel 16 Premier in the Silver Consolation Bracket (25-17, 14-25, 15-12).

 14 Black

In the Silver 14 Open Bracket, 14 Black were able to seal a win in two sets against CJV 14-2 with scores of 25-18 and 25-19, earning them a spot in the Silver Bracket finals.  They fell in two sets against GSJ 14 Aly (25-15, 25-12).

14 Blue

14 Blue played in 14 Club this weekend, a division made up of 44 teams.  They lost a hard fought game against Cape Fear 14-Michele with scores of 25-19 and 25-20.

13 Black

Finishing first in the Gold Bracket after the first two days of Winter Bump, 13 Black started the final day off strong with a three set thriller against LAVA 13U Purple (25-7, 19-25, 15-12), winning them a spot in the semifinals.  They hardworking team fell to SVC 13 U Renegade, the team that won the tournament in the 13 Club division.  13 Black finished tied for third out of 27 teams, playing tough competition all weekend.  Out of the eight games they played, five of them went to three sets.  Overall the weekend for the 13 Black team consisted of great play and great effort.  Serving was strong all weekend, and the leading players in aces were Emma Barnes, Skye Malasig and Logan Priddy.  Alyssa Hernandez led the team in digs as the defensive specialist.  Lily Barnhill and Malasig led in kills.
